The left section of an amazing Route 66 diorama (circa 1958). The buildings in the diorama all were on Route 66 in 1958. This section features Cline's Garage, Cline's Flying C Ranch, the Flyinf=g C Cafe, and Homer's Used Cars Junkyard. There are also many period cars and trucks that were all "aged" the the creator of the diorama, the very talented, Don Bonin.
This is the Tower Court as it appeared on Route 66 in the 40's. It was very common for motels to to be called "courts", and the nicer ones, like this one, had a garage for each unit.
In this section of the Route 66 diorama you'll find the beautifully detailed Don Bonin Chevrolet Dealership (named after the diorama's designer and builder). There's also a highly detailed Standard Gas Station that once was on Route 66 in Illinios.
