Light Painting a 2017 Corvette Grand Sport in Osage Beach, Missouri
How Brian and Barb's 2017 Corvette Grand Sport light painting project came to be is a cool story all by itself! Brian found us when doing a search on the internet for “vintage gas stations”!
He wanted to use our cool light painting of Gregg’s Vintage Gas Station in Carver, Minnesota as the backdrop for his 1927 Spirit T Roadster's display at World of Wheels in Kansas City.
The rest is history.
The same evening that we created this beautiful light painting of their 2017 Corvette in front of their beautiful home, we light painted that car too!

Brian and Barb's amazing home served as the backdrop for this pretty light painting of their 2017 Corvette Grand Sport.

Light Painting a 1927 Spirit T Roadster
As we just mentioned above, we light painted Brian and Barb’s second car, this stunning 1927 Spirit T Roadster, right after light painting their 2017 Corvette.
As you can see by the sky, rain was on the way, and it was forecast to stick around for the next couple of days. So, without moving the camera, we took the Corvette away, and replaced it with this amazing car that Brian built.
Doing that would speed up the light painting process, because we would not have to light paint the house and landscaping all over again, just the Roadster, and the areas right around the car. It worked out perfectly!

With rain coming soon, we quickly swamped out the Corvette for the 1927 Spirit T Roadster, and light painted it, and the areas immediately around it, without moving the camera. We light painted it, andbeat the rain by about 45 minutes!

Light Painting the Engine Bay of a 1927 Spirit T Roadster
The rain did indeed arrive, and it stayed around for a couple of days.
I went to bed, as I'd been up nearly 20 hours driving from Minnesota to Missouri, and then doing two light paintings, all in the same day!
Brian had tucked the Roadster into its trailer to keep it nice and dry. Then, while I was sleeping, he moved it to his storage building.
In the morning, I asked him where the Roadster was? I wanted to light paint that engine bay!
So, we created these two incredible light paintings, right inside the trailer! It was tight quarters, but I got it done!

Light Painting a Harley Davidson Screaming Eagle 103
Brian and Barb both drive Harley Davidson motorcycles. And, while I couldn't talk them into having a portrait created with their bikes, Brian did tell me that I should light paint the engine on his Harley.
This is a Screaming Eagle 103 motor, and I must say that it has more than a little bit of chrome!
I didn't write a story about this one, as it was created in their garage on a rainy day, because "It was there"!

Light Painting a 2023 Torch Red C8 Corvette Stingray
The other reason I went to Missouri was to attend the Lake of the Ozarks Corvette Show. Brian set the whole thing up as a thank you for helping him to create the backdrop for him to use for the Roadster at car shows.
While there, Lee and Heidi hired me to create a light painting of their brand new 2023 Torch Red C8 Corvette Stingray. They were leaving the next day to go back home and wanted to know if I could create it that night after the show.
Since I was still manning my booth at the Corvette show, I asked them to scout out a location for their project. They discovered beautiful Seven Springs Winery in nearby Lynn Creek, Missouri. The rest is history.

Light Painting a 2013 60th Anniversary Corvette Grand Sport 3LT
The Lake of the Ozarks Corvette show was fantastic! The "Best of Show" winner was this stunning 2013 60th Anniversary Corvette Grand Sport 3LT! I light painted it for owner's Bobby and Billie on my way back home to Minnesota.
We created five unique light paintings that night. The interior, the amazing engine compartment, both the front and rear end views, and the whole Corvette with 3 corporate jets in the scene! A full night's work, and a very rewarding one at that!

Light Painting a 2016 Mercedes Benz C300
If you take a peak at The Stories Behind the Light Paintings - Part Four, you'll see Nate, and a pair of cool light paintings with his cool drum set. Those unique senior portraits were created on the fifty-yard line at Totino-Grace High School in Fridley, Minnesota.
Winter "happened" just a short time later, so this light painting project was created in the springtime.
It turned out that dad, Ted, would get in on the act too! We were going for that "James Bond" look and I think we nailed it!
The Mercedes is a daily driver, and a cool one at that! Nate drove the car to prom just a couple of days after we created this for them!

Light Painting Five Vehicles Under An Enormous Oak Tree
Terry & Lori found us at Motorhead Madness in Duluth, Minnesota in March of 2023. Once the nice spring weather arrived, I made a trip to their place to scout out a location for their light painting project. As soon as I saw this massive oak tree, I knew this was were we should create it! A week later, this beautiful light painting was "In the can"!
The vehicles in this amazing light paint are, from left to right:
1959 Cadillac Coupe Deville
1948 Pontiac Silver Streak
1939 Packard Coupe 110 Series
1955 Chevrolet 3100 Stepside Short Box pickup truck
1959 Chevy El Camino
As a side note, the amazing 1955 Chevrolet 3100 Stepside Short Box would go on to become the 2023 MSRA Custom of the Year!

Light Painting a 1933 Chevy 2-Door Sedan Rat Rod
This is another cool project that was a direct result of our exhibiting at Motorhead Madness in Duluth, Minnesota in March.
Tim & Sabrena, owners of Auburn Rod and Custom, in New Auburn, Wisconsin are the owners of this amazing Rat Rod. They found an amazing location for their project, Cahoon's Garage in the cute little town of Dallas, Wisconsin.
The garage owners, Corey & LaVonne, and their son, Gage, were gracious to allow us to use their fabulous vintage gas station for this cool light painting project.
This was such a fun project! We literally had our camera and tripod sitting in the middle of the the street!

Light Painting a 1927 International Wrecker and a 1936 Ford Sedan
Another amazing project that came from Motorhead Madness in Duluth back in March 2023.
These beautiful vehicles, a 1927 International Wrecker, and a 1936 Ford Sedan, weren't even the project that was scheduled for the evening!
After traveling a couple hours to their place in northern Minnesota, unforecast rain arrived with me. Well, on to "Plan B".
I "suggested" (well, maybe begged) creating this indoors that night. Obviously, they said yes!
The scheduled vehicle that night was a rare, and amazing, 1969 Dodge Daytona. That one would get light painting the next week, and is coming up next!

Light Painting a Rare 1969 Dodge Daytona
Just week later, we had a nice dry evening to light paint this rare car, a mint condition 1969 Dodge Daytona.
The owners of the car tell me that it is believed that this is the only one in existence that is a "one family" owned 1969 Dodge Daytona.
Their cute log cabin served as the backdrop for this cool light painting project.
Winter was right around the corner, so that would conclude our vehicle projects for 2023. However, we have one more light painting project to go, and it's a pretty one at that!

Light Painting Santa's North Pole Lodge
The 2023 Holiday Season was upon us, and, once again, Santa Claus was in studio to help us raise thousands of dollars to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis!
Santa's North Pole Lodge made its debut in 2023. Santa's "Lodge" is actually the beautiful fireplace in the lobby at Cove Point Lodge up on Lake Superior. We traveled up there and light painting it so that we could convert it into our Christmas set backdrop.
Once that original light painting was created, "Elf Michael" blended that light painting with another light painting of the entire set. That allowed us to create these amazing Santa artworks, like the one you see below, for our clients.
2023 would also be the first time that Rudolph the Red-Rosed Reindeer would make an appearance at The Best Santa Experience!
If you would like to help us get your next holiday season off to a great start, and help us raise money for CF, you can sign up (right now) for next Christmas by reserving your time slot with Santa Claus at www.TheBestSantaExperience.com
